According to its
Web site, the locally based Leadership Network will "identify, connect and help high-capacity Christian leaders multiply their impact." While only one of the words "high," "capacity," "Christian" and "leader" apply to me, I am fascinated by the rise of the movie-theater church; God loves a big room, but c'mon. Apparently, the LN's all over this phenom: According to
a study issued yesterday, there are some 250 theater churches in 36 states, and the number's growing exponentially.
To that end, the LN will be conducting a nationwide survey in coming weeks to find out precisely how many worship services are being conducted in places that used to screen Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. Their findings will be released during the half-day Theater Church Forum that takes place in Washington D.C. on May 4. --Robert Wilonsky
