Keep Dallas Observer Free

If You'd Like to Meet a Moviemaker on Monday

The Brothers Bloom, the second film from Brick writer-director Rian Johnson, opens today -- and, yes, it's a film of which I'm quite fond, more so upon second viewing. Which I mention only to suggest that if you're interested in seeing the movie, perhaps you'll make it to the Magnolia Theater on Monday night -- where, so happens, Johnson will show for a Q&A following the 7:10 screening. (Johnson will also intro the screening, as well as the one that follows at 9:45 p.m.) I will be moderating the chat, which should not dissuade you from attending. What you see above are the first seven minutes of the movie -- quite the bonus. Here's the trailer. See you Monday, then?

Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
