Life Imitating Fox

Either some dude in Dallas County's jail was inspired by the Fox show Prison Break, filming around town, or just decided he'd better go elsewhere for medical treatment.

Perhaps inspired by the Fox-TV show Prison Break, which is filming around town for the next few months, an inmate at the Dallas County Cook Chill Facility tried to escape Friday and, in a way, was succesful. He cut himself several times on the barbed-wire fence, and after he was apprehended, he was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment. County officials confirmed the attempted jail break to us on Friday, but the sheriff's office didn't respond to an e-mail asking for comment. And last we looked, Dallas' Only Daily and the local TV stations had no information over the weekend about what we now consider to be, pardon, breaking news. --Matt Pulle
