Kathleen Diane Manning, who died February 11

Because Unfair Park is committed to spotlighting the most eye-catching paid-for obituaries in the paper, this morning we bring you Kathleen Diane Manning, who died February 11. (Our condolences, of course.) What caught our eye this a.m. wasn't necessarily the body of the text, but the accompanying photo, in which Manning appears dressed as Isis from the old CBS-TV Saturday-morning kids' show.

Which makes sense, once you read the obit itself: "High Priestess of Isis, you have joined our Lady of Light in the Ethereal on 2/11/07. You have faced all of Lifes challenges with Love, Truth, Dignity, Class, and Unwavering Determination, combined with a Will that could not be withstood by mortal man." In the proper spirit, then, we offer only a parting "Shazam." --Robert Wilonsky
