Pizza Hut Pulls Its Slice Out of Pizza Hut Park

Speaking of local sports venues ...

A Friend of Unfair Park sends this dispatch concerning FC Dallas's Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, which will no longer be called Pizza Hut Park. Leigh Anne Gullett, director of public relations for the MLS franchise, confirms: After North Dakota State and Sam Houston State play in the Football Championship Subdivision on January 7, she tells Unfair Park the joint will be referred to as FC Dallas Stadium "until a new sponsorship deal is reached." Gullett also forwarded The Official Statement from the club:

Pizza Hut, as the company has recently shown with some of its other venue agreements, has shifted its sports marketing philosophy and will no longer be our naming rights partner. We are actively searching for a new naming rights partner for the stadium and are in discussions with several interested companies. Meanwhile, after the FCS game on Jan. 7, we will be referred to as FC Dallas Stadium until a new deal is reached.
