Radiant Still Milkin' That Kimmel Contest Win

A Friend of Unfair Park reminds us that tonight, Radiant will provide the musical entertainment on Jimmy Kimmel Live; this, o' course, follows the band's winning the "Countdown to One" contest that landed the local band a slot on Mr. Sarah Silverman's New Year's Eve broadcast, which we kinda, like, missed or something? Show starts at 11:05 p.m locally on WFAA-Channel 8; us, we'll tune in a little late, as to miss guests Donald Trump and Carrot Fuckin' Top. Till then, here's some vid of the band playing New Year's Eve, as well as some behind-the-scenes footage provided, I think, by this former University of Texas social-workin' student. I think. --Robert Wilonsky

Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
