We Are Telling You

Jennifer Hudson, at far right, is the one Dreamgirl you can meet at NorthPark this afternoon.

What's that noise? It's probably all the Oscar buzz surrounding Jennifer Hudson's performance in the film Dreamgirls. The movie comes out Christmas, but the former American Idol contestant's already been mentioned as a likely contender for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. So if you want to get a jump and say you knew her when -- or at least met her when -- Hudson is appearing this afternoon at NorthPark Center for an autograph session and a special screening of the film.

She'll be up at the new AMC theater in the mall, signing from 4:30 to 5:30 between Macy's and Nordstrom; at 6, there will be with a special screening. (Don't know if Hudson will be introducing it: She's supposed to be getting on a plane this evening to head to her next promotional destination, but with the weather moving in, maybe she'll stick around to say a few words and grab a Which Wich after.) Seriously, though, do get there early -- like, now. The first 250 people in line will get free tickets to the show. --Rich Lopez
