Today we here at Mixmaster HQ received the shortest and most seductive press alert we've ever received. The single sentence came from the Dallas Arboretum and referenced not only the natural beauty of the Arborteum's Palmer Fern Dell, but also weather, cooling systems and oddly, NASA.
"The Palmer Fern Dell is at least 20 degrees cooler than the surrounding area, thanks to a NASA designed misting system."The wanna-be scientists in all of us were pretty excited.
After that last shuttle launch, we feared we'd hear less and less from our beloved NASA. But here they are, using their rocket ship know-how to make outdoor attractions bearable in 100+ weather.
A Space Camp diploma is not necessary to enjoy the misty dell, but regular admission is. Oh, and incidentally, that admission is only $1 through August 31.
