A gal will be painting expressionist landscape art nails out of a 1968 Shasta Compact trailer at Doublewide on Thursday. Do not panic: That's Breanne Trammell, and she's legit.
A RISD grad out of Wassaic New York, Trammell's an artist who works across mediums, from print making, sculpture and painting to domestic reclamation, like cake walks, kite building and craft-based projects. She's currently on a mission called Nails Across America, a crowd-sourced project taking her and her "canned ham" trailer through smaller US towns like Elyria, OH; Lawrence, KS; Sonora, CA; Greensboro, AL; as well as larger cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Minneapolis. Breanne's goal for the project is to collect community stories while performing free manicures out of her converted trailer studio. (Don't worry y'all, she's licensed.)

For this series she's using color plays on pop culture, like a glittery deep blue called Friday Night Lights and a bright "Cheetos orange." Participants can also pick custom work, like doughnut sprinkles, #2 pencils, or tips modeled after Richard Diebenkorn-inspired paintings.
Breanne hit Waxahachie's Webb Gallery yesterday, stopping by to paint Julie and Bruce Lee's nails, including a recreation of gallery dog Dexter on Bruce's right thumb.
