Greenville: After the obvious (Greenville St. Patty's Day parade, and the Dallas Observer concert with headliner Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses and featuring Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights) nosh up with $5 food over at the Granada's new restaurant, Sundown. Help to grow a little green at Barcadia's Promise of Peace Community Garden fundraiser from 2 to 6 p.m., with $4 drink specials (car bombs!) and three local bands. Don't drunkenly forget to visit everyone over at the Dubliner for Dallas' biggest blockparty; it kicks off at 8 a.m. and wraps at 7 p.m., but the Mumbles take the stage at 8 and play until you think you can Riverdance.
Uptown: The Idle Rich Pub and Black Friar Pub in Uptown both want you to go the duration, so they'll be serving full menus of traditional fair, like corned beef reubens, shepherd's pie and assorted dishes featuring cabbage. If you're prowling the area, hit up that big ol' block party; it's hemmed in by local favorites Union Bear, Mi Cocina, Taco Diner, The Magnolia and Lemon Bar -- so the only cars you need to be worried about have the word "bomb" after them.
North: Ringo's Pub in Plano is the only show in town featuring Mini Kiss, which should really give it top billing. For the uninitiated, Mini Kiss is a Kiss tribute band operated by little people. But I swear to god, if you get wasted on Jameson and use the "leprechaun" word in a derogatory way, they will almost certainly beat you with their guitars. You've been warned.
McFadden's in Addison is taking the full rainbow of "Irish" keywords and using them in its affair: there's a Lucky Charms eating contest, leprechauns, bagpipers, hands on the blarney stone and a give-away trip to Ireland. Warning ladies, there's also a make your own green bikini contest. While in the neighborhood, why don'tcha two-step on down to Denim and Diamonds, that's where the winner of the Sexiest Red Head contest will be awarded $300 cash -- green cash, that is.
