Dennis Miller, comedian, talk show host, rant artist, Bill O'Reilly acolyte and Bill Maher mirror-opposite, returns to Bass Performance Hall for a concert at 8 p.m., Friday, June 8. Tickets are on sale now for the show, part of Performing Arts Fort Worth.

Host of his own syndicated radio show, Miller, 58, won a shelf full of Emmys for his HBO Dennis Miller Live series, which ran for nine years. He briefly hosted an interview show on CNBC and has published four volumes of his comic rants. He previously served as "Weekend Update" anchor on Saturday Night Live for six years (1985-1991). For two seasons, Miller injected quips and amusing non sequiturs into the play-by-play commentary alongside Al Michaels and Dan Fouts on ABC's Monday Night Football.

Miller started winning fans from the political right when he reinvented himself five years ago as angry, global-warming-denying, Michael Moore-hating quasi-Libertarian. On his radio show, he says he believes in legalizing drugs and prostitution and doesn't believe in being born again ("I got it right the first time") or environmentalism. "We're not allowed to do anything to nature anymore, except look at it. It's like porn with leaves," sayeth Miller.

The Simpsons noted his particular style of comedy - the style that says things like "One man's Voltaire is another man's Screech" - with a nod to his penchant for obscure references. If only one person in a million finds something funny, said a character named Professor Frink in one Simpsons episode, "we call that the `Dennis Miller Ratio.'"

Miller currently serves as the National Spokesperson for USA Cares, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to military families in need. That's nice. One man's Lenny Bruce is another man's Jerry Lewis.
