I'll let you in on a bit of semantics. When you read the word “intimate,” the writer actually means really freaking small. When you read the word “high brow,” the writer means pedantic and probably boring. And when a calendar editor tells you the best thing to do on a Monday is go to a panel, there is nothing else going on. Or they live in Dallas, where panels happen at least once a day. It's one of the few art forms we've cornered the market on, which means that every once in a while there will be one that is probably the “best.” And when that day comes, odds are Mark Lamster's moderating it. The architecture critic for the city's daily newspaper, Lamster leads a discussion titled “Architect and Architectress.” It promises to explore the rise of female architects, or lack thereof, and ask the hard questions Lamster's particular strength. But the hardest question of all, is will you show up? Registration is $20 and includes a pre-panel reception at the Dallas Center for Architecture (1909 Woodall Rodgers Frwy., Ste 100) at 6 p.m. Monday. More information at dallascfa.org.
