This weekend brings us the release of not one, not two, but three sequels, which also happen to be a few of the biggest cinematic adventures to hits theaters this holiday season! I hope you are the type to pay a visit to the snack bar on your movie theater outings, because popcorn is pretty much required with these flicks.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Director Guy Ritchie and RDJ gave us a Sherlock for the new school back in 2009 - one that would make Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's mustache surely grow more manly - and now the super aloof sleuth is back with his dear Watson (Jude Law) to face off against his arch nemesis, Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris). But trust me, there's nothing elementary about this more than adequate follow-up!

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Technically, you can't choose to accept the fourth Mission with Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt until Wednesday, December 16, when Ghost Protocol officially drops into theaters (from an air duct, naturally) but director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) must be so excited about his first live-action effort that he's allowing audiences to see it a whole five days early! And see it you must, because from the moment the fuse is lit, the action and adventure explodes off the IMAX screen. And if that's not enough to get you to the theater, the new attached trailer for The Dark Knight Rises should be! Anticipation Meter: 4 out of 5 very intense running sequences
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked
The grown-ups can't have all the fun at the theater this weekend! Which is why those lovable chipmunks are getting chip-wrecked at your local cinema with an all-star cast including Jason Lee, Justin Long, David Cross, Anna Faris, and more. Obviously, this one is for the kiddos but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little bit curious what an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie is like from, the director of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
