The Real Housewives of Dallas Episode 9 Recap
"Killing Time in Austin"

We really, really, really — emphasis on the emphasis — wish The Real Housewives of Dallas episode 9 was the first episode. Because finally, there is less charity talk and more death threats. Yes, actual death threats. Episode 9 is all about Housewife LeeAnne Locken throwing some "I'm gonna gut you" toward Friend of the Housewives Marie Reyes.

The five Housewives, along with Reyes and Cary Deuber's friend Courtney Rider, head to Austin for some girl time, aka the producers threw seven women together and prayed for some good reality TV. And it worked. Because we see the rise of the friendships: They all get super drunk and Locken and Brandi Redmond even make up and bond over opening a wine bottle.

Redmond and Locken also finally bond over poop. Kind of. On the way to Austin, Redmond pees in a cup, Locken is disgusted, and Redmond reminds Locken that she once heard that Locken pooped in a bag in the back of a car. Locken hears that and is pissed because only Reyes and Tiffany Hendra were supposed to know that story. Because Hendra has never gossiped ever, Locken can only assume Reyes spread that rumor. Caught up? This all causes Locken's blood to boil and her anger is directed at Reyes. Hence the death threats.

After all the women went to bed and production left for the day, Locken told Reyes she wanted to "gut" her for betraying her. Deuber, however, recorded the entire thing on her phone, thank God. Rider tells us, though, that the entire night leading up to the death threats was a mess already.

"The whole entire evening was a conundrum to begin with. I don't know what the issue is still to this day. [It was] so unbelievably over-the-top and I'm just not used to that sort of drama," Rider tells us. "I didn't know what on earth was going on. I just heard screaming from down below and, you know, LeeAnne was belligerent, so I think she was just making idle threats and Marie was just unfortunately trying to stick up for herself."

The next morning was awkward for all the women. Locken tried explaining to Reyes that she was hurt. She said a bunch of other things, like... "OK, Marie, what you think is killing and what I think is killing is two different things."

"The word kill — when I say kill it means something different than what you're thinking."

"If I was perfect, I would be nailed to a cross."

Earlier in the trip, the women had someone come cook for them. Colin Jurey from 416 Bar and Grille in Austin, which has a 3.5 rating on Yelp, says he filmed for about three hours, cooking the women pork tenderloin, potato pancakes and braised cabbage. They were friendly toward him even when they were arguing about something he wasn't sure of. He says whether they were getting along or arguing, it all felt genuine.
Rider, however, isn't sure what to believe.

"The whole thing is awkward. I can't tell what's real and what's fake to be honest with you," she tells us. "I mean it's reality TV, so who knows. At that point, I'm like, 'Good Lord, what have I signed up for?'"
