On the Border

Dallas certainly has no shortage of legendary Tex-Mex spots, but for those times when you’re craving something a bit more, er, corporate, there’s always On the Border. The O.G. location of the chain that now boasts well over 150 locations debuted in 1982 on Knox Street and it’s still standing, though it’s received a few facelifts and menu makeovers since then. The staggeringly large menu includes everything from tableside guacamole and Texas staple food queso to fajitas, burritos, flautas and fried fish tacos, while the fully stocked bar specializes in tequila drinks, natch, including frozen and on-the-rocks margaritas and the slightly-less-authentic Mexican mojitos.
