It's hard to deny this show as being one of the biggest this weekend. Kind of strange, though, that School of Seven Bells' last three trips to the Metroplex have only seen one show in Dallas -- especially because guitarist/producer Benjamin Curtis more or less grew up here. The Modern is a cool venue, and the opening acts will do well to entertain before the headliner takes the stage.
Brain Gang, Leg Sweeper

Good Lord, Leg Sweeper loves their hip-hop, which is probably how this show came about. Dallas collective Brain Gang will headline this show, which will inevitably turn into a wild party.
Dove Hunter, Aaron Barker

It's
the second show to take place at the Foundry, and I'm glad to see that this
totally rad bar in North Oak Cliff is quickly getting some bands on that
outdoor stage. Hopefully we'll see some national acts soon.
According to the Facebook invite, it's Dove Hunter's last show for a
while. I've heard that before.
Frankie Rose, Dive, Lonesome Ghost, The Vliets

Frankie
Rose has finally broken out of her gigs as a drummer. Her first record
as a solo artist, Interstellar, has been met with critical acclaim, so
you can assume her show tonight at Dada will be really good.

Put
on by Overrated, a Denton zine celebrating the release of its second
volume, this line-up is a solid one. Kyle Cheatham's solo electro project Night Game Cult headlines the show, which will cost $3, probably the cheapest of the weekend.
Reverend Horton Heat, The American Fuse

If
you've seen the Reverend Horton Heat once, you've probably met your
lifetime quota. But if you want a refresher, The Rev is touring the Metroplex this weekend. The Dallas show is tonight at LaGrange.
Aeroplane

Italian-Belgian
producer Aeroplane is just the kind of DJ Rio Room has been
procuring lately. His remixes aren't like that of the standard party DJ
ilk. Remixing indie acts like Sebastien Tellier and Friendly Fires,
Aeroplane is one of the acts bridging the gap between indie rock and DJ
culture.
Rotting Out, FocusedxMinds, Power Trip, Hands Of The Few

If
you take your Friday the 13th seriously, this is the show you want to
be at. Parade of Flesh is doing it right with Los Angeles punk/hardcore
act Rotting Out. It will be loud. It will be scary.
Delta Spirit, Waters

Another
in a long line of bands who made an album in a cabin, Delta Spirit
blends rock with folk and sounds right at home on KXT.. A good place to start your
Saturday night.
