2011 Vans Warped Tour to Kick Off in Dallas

This morning, we received a press release from the skateboarding folks at Vans Warped Tour headquarters. Turns out that this year, the 16th year of the tour's existence, The Vans Warped Tour will launch right here in Dallas on Friday, June 24 at Gexa Energy Pavilion.

Tickets will go on sale via Live Nation for $36.52 on Saturday, April 2, at 10 a.m.

As you might recall, last year's outing was headlined by party king Andrew W.K., but this year's headliners tend to be a little more predictable given Vans Warped Tour emo/punk/hardcore-loving history. 2011 main stage artists include 3OH!3, A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandria, and The Devil Wears Prada.

The rest of the lineup pretty much follows suit. The previously announced list of 30-some-odd bands doesn't come with too many surprises, unless, of course, you count Memphis, Tennessee alt-country act Lucero, whose name stands out like a sore thumb next to the likes of Less Than Jake and We Came As Romans...

But, as an added bonus for Dallas fans, The Devil Wears Prada will have an in-store performance at an undisclosed Vans store location in Dallas on Thursday, June 23.

We're guessing it'll be at the newly opened North Park Mall location.
Update: Over on the Vans Warped Tour Facebook page, they've announced that the instore will take place at the Vans Store in Town East Mall.
