More cool shows continue to fill up DFW's concert calendar as we inch closer to the end of the year. With country acts, indie bands, singer-songwriters and acclaimed instrumentalists, this new list has something for all types of music lover.
- Country music megastar Eric Church has announced an epic tour for early 2019 that will find him promoting his upcoming new album, Desperate Man. The multi-city North American tour that will surely pack some of the year's largest crowds, visits American Airlines Center for a two-night stand April 12 and 13. - Beginning in early 2019, Canadian indie-rockers Metric will team up with Zoe, for a massive co-headlining tour throughout North America. Metric will be out supporting their seventh studio album, Art of Doubt, which has just seen a recent release. - LA-based hip-hop groups Cypress Hill and Hollywood Undead will join forces in early 2019 for a huge 23-city tour across America. Cypress Hill's first album in over eight years is out this week and they're fresh off a recent celebration that marked 25 years as a band. - Virtuoso cello duo 2Cellos are hitting the road for a lengthy and ambitious tour that will take them across North America in support of their upcoming album, Let There Be Cello. Their shows are also noteworthy for their unique interpretations of film and television scores. They'll appear Feb. 19 at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. - The Band Perry is heading out in support of their pop crossover release album, Coordinates. They've been hiding out under the radar for the last several years and have re-emerged as not a country band, but instead as a Rick Rubin-collaborating electronic outfit. - The Devil Wears Prada are bringing the 10th anniversary of their album With Roots Above And Branches Below to the road with a lengthy North American tour. - Fresh off a string of dates as Slash's opening act, Myles Kennedy & Co. is hitting the road again to continue their Year of the Tiger Tour. The rock band is hitting a good portion of the U.S. before year's end and will play Dec. 8 at Canton Hall. Tickets are on sale Sept. 28 at ticketfly.com.
- LIM-ERIC, a night of Whimsical Rhymes from the voice of the Texas Rangers and Friends, is the brainchild of Rangers announcer Eric Nadel. On Dec. 5, he'll take over The Kessler Theater for his book release and night of music featuring Pedigo's Magic Pilsner, Whitney Rose and Joshua Ray Walker. - Veteran acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson will appear Feb. 13 at The Kessler Theater. His new album, Sings His Sad Heart, is out soon and should build off of the success of last year's Def Leppard-approved cover album of the band's Pyromania record.
