Untapped Festival
Saturday, September 8, at Trinity Groves Park
It's hard to tell what the biggest draw will be at Saturday's Untapped Festival. It's a music/beer festival that pairs bands like Givers, The Antlers, Akron/Family, Blackstone Rangers, Burning Hotels and many more with beers like Dogfish Head, Oskar Blues, Ommegang and Chimay. Whatever it is that draws you, you're likely to find something new to try out.
Quaker City Night Hawks, Glen Farris
Thursday, September 6, at AT&T Performing Arts Center
It's
the first Patio Sessions date of the fall, even though it's still a
blazing 100 degrees out. Patio Sessions is a free outdoor show that
features local bands on the Winspear lawn. Grab a six pack and some
food truck money and relax. Starts at 5:30 p.m.
Rubber Gloves Free Week

Three more chances to get your free show on, starting tonight with The Angelus, New Science Projects, Eccotone and more. Friday hosts Bad Design and Street Arabs; Saturday closes out with A.Dd+, Idiots, Atomic Tanlines and Shiny Around the Edges.
Lyle Lovett
Friday, September 7, at Majestic Theatre
Lyle
Lovett will be bringing his
handsome catalog to the Majestic, a venue that seems to further hallow
the artists that perform on its stage. Have you noticed he has a lot of songs about girls?
Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Lil Marley, Brain Gang Blue, The Mohicans
Friday, September 7, at Prophet Bar (Big Room)
As Channing Beumer says in this week's print edition: It's a "Top Dawg Entertainment takeover" at Prophet Bar.
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
Saturday, September 8, at Granada Theater
Check out our preview here.
David Ramirez
Saturday, September 8, at Prophet Bar
Dallas singer-songwriter turned Austinite David Ramirez is playing a sort of homecoming show in celebration of his new album, Apologies.
Tyga, Kirko Bangz, Iggy Azalea
Sunday, September 9, at Palladium Ballroom
Rapper
Tyga, the vocal stylist behind the interminable "Rack City," and local support act Kirko Bangz have both put out several
mixtapes. They're supported here by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who's still riding high on her 2011 mixtape, Ignorant Art.
