For a band that by some accounts had broken up over a year ago--and with only a five-song EP to show for its efforts--The Middle East should consider its current US tour nothing less than triumphant.

An impromptu showing at NX35 elicited the sort of enthusiasm from a Dan's Silverleaf crowd usually reserved for Sarah Jaffe finales, and its SXSW set at the Paste Magazine party filled to capacity.

Upcoming dates for the band include a stop at Dallas' The Loft on April 22 with Frightened Rabbit, opening dates with Pavement in California and another Dallas show (this time with Mumford & Sons at the House of Blues) in June.

But, as we've already seen, perhaps the best place to catch this rising outfit is in yet another impromptu appearance at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton tonight at 9. Turns out the Aussie band is currently recording in Denton and decided to pick up a quick date for a breather.

If your tastes run somewhere in the vicinity of Iron & Wine or locals like Seryn and Telegraph Canyon, you'll kick yourself later for missing this one.
