Teren Delvon Jones is hardly new to the hip-hop business. The man who goes by the name of Del the Funky Homosapien got his start back in the early '90s, when he was writing rap lyrics for his cousin Ice Cube's band, Da Lench Mob.
Since striking out on his own, Del has had his share of troubles with record companies, including having his contract terminated by his previous label, Elektra. But it hasn't all been bad: In 2009, Del released his album, Automatik Statik, on Bandcamp as a pay what you want download. And the effort was so successful that he decided to do the same thing again for his latest release, It Ain't Illegal Yet.
Del will be stopping by Dallas this Sunday on his tour to promote It Ain't Illegal Yet, and thanks to the fine folks at The Loft, we have five pairs of tickets for the show to give out to some lucky DC9 readers. Interested in winning? Find out how after the jump.
Want the tickets? Just be among the first five people to email Pete, starting right now, with the words "Funky Enough" in the subject line, and you're in! Good luck!
