Don't even begin to kid yourselves: Getting around town this weekend will be a pain. Lower Greenville in particular? It's gonna suck. So hard.

What really sucks though, is that it's a pretty packed weekend of live music, and if you're gonna head out on the town, well, you're just gonna have to put up with all the TX/OU crap. Thankfully, enough of what's happening this weekend does appear worth the while.

So, without further ado, let's just jump right in, first with the shows we've already talked up...

Tonight, there's The Black Crowes at the Palladium, Har Mar Superstar at The Lounge on Elm, and, as we just explained, the Red Bull Soundclash event with Erykah Badu, The Cannabinoids and Shiny Toy Guns at Victory Plaza.

On Saturday, there's the Texas Guitar Show in Arlington Convention Center, the CD release party for Daniel Folmer's third CD in 18 months at J&J's Pizza in Denton, the opening of The Info Shop in Arlington and the Baruch the Scribe EP release at Hailey's in Denton.

Sunday, meanwhile, be sure to clear your schedules for The Ramonas, True Widow, Early Man and Valient Thorr (plus a mechanical bull!) at The Double Wide's sixth anniversary party.

Now, onto the best of the rest--each of which we'll describe this week in terms of why putting up with traffic may or may not be worth it. Jump with us, won't you?

Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears
Friday, Oct. 16, at Good Records and House of Blues' Cambridge Room; Saturday, Oct. 17, at House of Blues' Cambridge Room

Because, dammit, if you like James Brown, you'll love Black Joe and his seven-piece backing band The Honeybears. Stop by Good Records on Friday at 6 p.m. for a free in-store performance with beer. Or stop by the House of Blues on Saturday, to catch DC9 favorite Dem Southernfolkz opening the night. Can't make either? Settle for tonight's show at the House of Blues, with Austin retro-pop-rockers Leatherbag in the opening slot.

Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic
Friday, Oct. 16, at Superpages.com Center

Because you're all out of pot, and this is a surefire place to score some.

The Paper Chase, The Great Tyrant, Personal Victories with George Quartz
Friday, Oct. 16, at Lola's Sixth in Fort Worth

Because The Paper Chase consistently puts on one of the best shows in the region, because you have to see The Great Tyrant to believe it, and because George Quartz tells me his Faux Fox outfit is pretty much defunct at this point and he's pouring his efforts into this new venture, which sounds pretty promising, actually.

Who's Bad: A Michael Jackson Tribute
Friday, Oct. 16, at House of Blues

Because you're not over Michael Jackson's death yet and you surely can't wait until October 28, when the documentary This Is It earns its release.

Finch, BlessTheFall, Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Saturday, Oct. 17, at The Door

Because you're 17 and don't care about football or asking your parents to drive through game traffic.

Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Josh Weathers Band, Taddy Porter, Bleu Edmonson
Saturday, Oct. 17, at House of Blues

Because JT&TNL put on a beast of a show at ACL earning rave reviews across the board.

Quebe Sisters
Saturday, Oct. 17, at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton

Because, sometimes, you just need some authenticity in your life--and this family does Texas Swing like no other.

Miranda Lambert
Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Texas State Fair's Chevrolet Main Stage

Because it was kinda hot when the former Nasheville Star contestant burned your house to the ground.

Colin Hay, Johnny Lloyd Rollins
Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Granada Theater

Because you come from a land down under where women glow and men plunder--and you wouldn't mind seeing the Men at Work frontman performing his solo acoustic stuff.

Hollywood Undead, Escape The Fate, The Sleeping
Sunday, Oct. 18, at House of Blues

Because you just can't wait till Halloween to watch men in mask jump around, and you never got over the unfortunate rap-rock trends of the turn of the millenium, despite the fact that even Linkin Park has.

Miley Cyrus, Metro Station
Sunday, Oct. 18, at American Airlines Cente
r
Because you can't really knock the pop goodness of Miley's "Party in the U.S.A.," which, uh, is actually kinda catchy, I hate to admit...

...and that just about does it. Got more? Add 'em in the comments. Otherwise, beware road rage, and have fun out there.
