If you're even vaguely familiar with music in Dallas, the word "Centro-matic" has almost certainly worked its way into your vocabulary. You are probably familiar, too, with the fun affairs their concerts tend to be.

But if the number of times you've seen them is somewhere in the double digits and you want to try something other than seeing the band at the Granada tonight, here's a smorgasbord of great shows we've mentioned earlier in the week...

On Friday, Descender, The Crash That Took Me and RTB2 make up a pretty solid triple bill at Double Wide. On Saturday, El Gato, Lovie, Orange Peel Sunshine, Ryan Thomas Becker, Madison King, Corey Howe play a show benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation also at Doublewide. Also on Saturday, Sundress brings it's wall of sound to Dan's Silverleaf. Speaking of Denton, Old Snack, Slider Pines, Delmore Pilcrow perform that same night at Hailey's. And, on Sunday night, Eluvium and Sleep Whale play softly at The Loft as Ben Folds gets us all nostalgic for the '90s at the House Of Blues.

Had enough? Thirsty for more? After the jump, you'll find some hand-selected concerts for your weekend consideration...

Eleven Hundred Springs
Friday, May 7 at Trees

See? Trees doesn't just have hard rock acts!

The Roomsounds, Cocky Americans, Pale Horse
Friday, May 7 at The Cavern

Rock 'n' roll. That's what this triple-bill is all about.

Red Eye, Blixaboy, Betdat, Tommylee Jonez
Friday, May 7 at the Lounge on Elm Street
Some of Dallas' baddest DJs will be spinning Dub and Techno at this event. Blixaboy's been a long Dallas mainstay, transitioning from the shoegaze movement into electronic music.

Civil Twilight, Paper Tongues, Dem Southern Folkz, Gravity, Robin Lore
Friday, May 7 at The Prophet Bar

Not sure about any of these bands except Dem Southernfolkz, a solid up-and-coming Dallas hip hop act.

The Crystal Method
Saturday, May 8 at Lizard Lounge

See if the Crystal Method can still "Trip Like I Do."

Black And Blue
Saturday, May 8 at All Good Cafe

Rolling Stones Cover Band playing in honor of The Stones' Exhile On Main St. reissue.

Dax Riggs
Saturday, May 8 at Lounge On Elm Street
Indie blues rock.

Sir Silky, Museum Creatures, Big J, Genova
Saturday, May 8 at the Cavern

Dallas' answer to Har Mar Superstar, Sir Silky's shock rock, make that sex rock, will be in your head for days. And apparently so will the imagery of his live performances.

Ralph's World
Sunday, May 9 at House Of Blues

Ralph's World is children's pop. If Hard Night's Day made a children's album, it would sound exactly like Ralph's World. It's actually pretty catchy.

That's all from us this week. Hopefully this will get you through the weekend.
