It's not the strongest weekend we've seen here lately, but there are still some worthwhile shows to get out and see. Namely, Eisley, who'll perform at the Granada Theater along with their kid sister, Christie DuPree, and The Narrative. This will be their first full-on show in town since the release of their new record, The Valley, (and not counting their Good Records in-store.)
But that's not the only show this weekend worth mentioning. We've got quite a handful, including some interesting outdoor options. But, first, here are the shows we've already talked about all week.
Tonight, The Lash Outs play at Andy's Bar in Denton.
On Saturday, Bowling For Soup make a triumphant return to Fort Worth at The Aardvark, and legendary songwriter Chip Taylor will be at The Kessler.
Lastly, on Sunday, Face To Face, Strung Out and Blitzkid perform at Granada Theater.

Asleep At The Wheel (Concerts In the Garden Music Series)
Friday, June 3, at Fort Worth Botanic Garden in Fort Worth
Legendary Texas country act Asleep At The Wheel will play one of the most well-attended summer staples in Fort Worth tonight. Concerts In The Garden is a huge outdoor series that takes place in the Forth Worth Botanic Gardens. If you don't mind the heat or the bugs, this is a great chance to see one of Texas' best.
Descender, Dove Hunter, Trebuchet
Friday, June 3, at Dada
Three of the region's better rock bands join forces tonight at Dada for what is one of Dove Hunter's first shows in Dallas since re-forming. Ah, memories.
The Donkeys, The Backsliders
Friday, June 3, at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton
Got a press release that included a download of The Donkeys' new album Born With Stripes. It's not bad for a band from San Diego -- kind of glossy alt-country-meets-pop stuff that seems tailor-made for the indie set. It's the best thing going in Denton tonight.
Eternal Summers, Beets
Friday, June 3, at City Tavern
There's sort of a local tie with Roanoke, Virginia's Eternal Summers. They've recently been signed to Gorilla vs Bear's label, Forest Family Records, and they regularly receive love from the blog. Thanks to Parade Of Flesh, the band will appear at City Tavern along with The Beets, whose Dallas show last year was canceled at the last minute.
Guitar Wolf, Cheap Time, Missile
Friday, June 3, at The Loft
All the way from Japan, Guitar Wolf has been around for two and a half decades, making garage punk akin to The Ramones. With nine albums under their belt, it's safe to assume that this show will be good. It'll be interesting at the very least.
Speak, Mother Falcon, Quiet Company
Friday, June 3, at Cambridge Room
This is sort of an Austin-bands-invade-Dallas thing. Speak use electronic elements to augment their indie output, but the most notable thing about this show is that opening act Quiet Company has been invited to perform at this year's Dia De Los Toadies.
The Charlie Daniels Band
Saturday, June 4, at The Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
See the man, his fiddle and his full band at Levitt Pavilion in Arlington. Fair warning, though: They may or may not be looking for souls to steal.
Lucero
Saturday, June 4, at Fat Daddy's in Waxahachie
Speaking of big acts playing in remote Dallas suburbs: Lucero will be out in Waxahachie on Saturday. Not sure why or how this happened, but if you're in the area, put some gas in the tank and head down to Fat Daddy's to see this Memphis-based alt-country act do what they do best -- get drunk and play music.
Reverend Horton Heat
Saturday, June 4, at Fat Daddy's in Mansfield
Speaking of acts playing at venues called Fat Daddy's (but not the one in Waxahachie): Reverend Horton Heat will be at the Fat Daddy's in Mansfield this weekend. This rockabilly lifer has been around for decades, but I bet this is the first time he's ever played in Mansfield.
Corey Howe, Dim Locator, Old Warhorse
Saturday, June 4, Pastime Tavern
Chances are you won't hear anything inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan at this all-blues show at Pastime. You will, however, hear lots of heartfelt, gritty blues songs at this triple-bill, which features Old Warhorse, a sort of supergroup comprised of members of Pinebox Serenade, Spitfire Tumbleweeds, The Jakeys and other Denton acts.
Hares On The Mountain
Sunday, June 5, at Dan's Silverleaf
As long as we're on Denton supergroups: Hares On The Mountain is made up of Ryan Thomas Becker, George Neal, and a revolving cast of very talented back-up musicians. The music is equal parts folk and punk, with an emphasis on somewhat dark songwriting.
