Dollar and A Dream Dallas. House of Blues. 2200 N Lamar St. $1. Be safe
— J. Cole (@JColeNC) June 21, 2015
Cole duly tweeted around 4 p.m. Sunday that the show would be taking place at the House of Blues, and thousands of people flocked to the venue to try to get in. Like, really. We're not joking. Crazy numbers of people showed up, even though House of Blue's capacity is only around 1,600. Estimates put the crowd size somewhere around 3,000 to 4,000 people.Less than two hours after the announcement had been made, Cole took to Twitter to inform fans that wristbands for the show were already sold out:
All wristbands sold out for Dallas tonight. To those that didn't get in, see you later this summer. Peace

Police wound up being dispatched to make sure the throng of people kept from getting out of hand, but fortunately it sounds like everyone remained well behaved. Sadly, most of the people who showed up wound up getting turned away, but they can take heart: Cole will be back in Dallas in just two months' time for a performance at Gexa Energy Pavilion — which should be much better suited to the fan turnout.
In the meantime, there were also tons of photos and videos that captured the craziness yesterday. Take a look at some of the scenes:
