This was a "feel good" weekend. We paid tribute to Dimebag Darrell over at Nokia and picked up quirky ornaments and stellar artwork at two art-related fundraisers. Plus, dedicated marathon runners braved the cold, gloomy weather out at White Rock.

It's easy to say this show was unlike any other on Lamb of God's current tour (review). Sure, every city is "special," but for Saturday night's show all the bands on the bill paid tribute to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbot (of Pantera, Damageplan for those who are idiots). It was the three year anniversary of Dimebag's murder, and in addition to dedicating songs and holding moments of silence the bands did something special. Following Lamb of God's final song, all the bands on the bill (LOG, Killswitch, Soilwork and Devildriver) took the stage to play "5 Minutes Alone." We'd hate for you to miss out, so we shot this video.

Some of our favorite local artists, designers and architects created unique and beautiful Christmas ornaments for the McKinney Avenue Contemporary gallery to sell at this annual fundraiser (photos). We definitely got a kick out of the double shot ornament.

Art Conspiracy III at The Door

We spent more than we planned at the annual art fundraiser benefiting St. Anthony's Community Center. With more than 100 artists, a handful of bands -- including Sarah Jaffe, Red Monroe and DJ Sober -- and some very persuasive auctioneers made the event totally fun.

Ken "The Tie-Dye Guy" Mathias at Comedy Corner Café

Stoners giggled their little heads off as the Tie-Dye Guy tore it up over in Fort Worth Saturday night. (Admittedly, there were a handful of non-potheads at the show. They laughed, too, but it probably wasn't the same.)

Rob Zombie flaunted his 20+ years of horror-themed hard rock experience on stage Sunday night. He and guitarist John 5 commanded the stage and entranced the packed room.

White Rock Marathon

We felt so bad for all the runners in the White Rock Marathon. Sunday's weather sucked so bad. It was fucking cold, rainy and all around dreadful. While there is no way we'd be caught running in 35-degree weather, we admire those who did. -- Chelsea Ide
