On Tuesday night, local D-Town Boogie-er B-Hamp celebrated the release of his debut disc, B Dash, by hosting a signing session at the Southwest Center Mall (Formerly Red Bird Mall) Eargazum location and, later, by taking to Aura Lounge to celebrate with local hip-hop and professional sports celebrities.

Observer contributing photographer Gloria Levario stopped by Aura to talk in the red carpet festivities and revelries of that night; meanwhile, earlier in the evening, Patrick Michels snapped some photos of the signing at Eargazum. You can check out their combined slideshow right here.

Can't speak for the party at Aura, but the Eargzaum event was pretty adorable, if slightly under-attended. B-Hamp signed copies of his disc for a number of his adoring fans, a number of whom were young children that were too small to see over the counter B-Hamp stood behind without perching up on their tippiest of toes.

But it was a special day for B-Hamp, too, who openly acknowledged that releasing this full-length album puts him that much closer to moving past his one (pretty major) hit song.

"It's incredibly important for me to see this to happen," he said in between signing autographs. "This is my life, man."

In more ways than one, actually. When asked if he'd been practicing his signature in anticipation of this event, the man born Brandon Hampton laughed:

"I've always signed my name as B-Hamp. Now I've just perfected it."
