A few weeks ago, the Gorillaz show at Verizon Theatre on Wednesday, October 20 slid in under the radar. There's no doubt that the show from the animated band will be huge--but it just got a little bit bigger: N.E.R.D has just been announced as the opening act.

N.E.R.D is touring to promote its new record Nothing, which will hopefully be out soon (release date is still TBD), but, in the meantime, you can check out the video for that record's first single "Hot N Fun" right here.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at Ticketmaster starting at $49.50.

On the opposite end of the show announcements spectrum, blogosphere-approved '60s pop throwback band Women will be at The Nightmare on Friday, October 15, along with Manchild and Dallas' own Nervous Curtains.

Tickets will be $10 the day of the show, but can be purchased in advance for $8 at the Parade Of Flesh Front Gate page.

More show announcements after the jump.
