On Tuesday, August 18, Fort Worth's Telegraph Canyon will release its highly anticipated sophomore release, the Will Johnson-produced The Tide and The Current--a disc I can, having heard it, say is definitely worth the hype and the wait since 2007's excellent debut, All The Good News.
Oh, and speaking of hearing the new disc early, you can, too: It's streaming in full online right here. Expect a profile on the band and a review of the disc in our print product in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, a couple other talking points of note to go with the new disc:
- The album will be co-released by the California-based Velvet Blue Music and the DFW-based Spune, the latter of which is now also managing the band.
- This is Spune and Velvet Blue's third co-release, the first two coming from the sole other member of Spune's management roster, Doug Burr (for the discs On Promenade and The Shawl).
- Though not part of the recording process for The Tide and The Current, former Black Tie Dynasty keyboard player Brian McQuorcodale has now joined the band on keys and pedal steel guitar to make it a seven-piece collective.
