The Rebel Alliance Jazz Ensemble at Pearl at Commerce
Featuring some of the best musicians in our area, the 17-piece Rebel Alliance Jazz Ensemble is anything but the stuffy light jazz combo. Dabbling in rock, R&B, Latin and swing, this ensemble can even make the theme to Star Wars sound like a Benny Goodman standard. These guys play about town regularly, but the homey confines of Pearl is as great a place as any to catch this collection of talented players.

Originally from Seattle, Erik Barnes is a classically trained pianist who plays jazz and pop tunes at The Library Bar inside The Melrose Hotel every Tuesday night. The guy originally studied music from the renaissance, but his fare is considerably lighter these days. Barnes' music is the perfect thing to mellower a listener out after a busy holiday season.
