- Veteran rockers Counting Crows have announced a massive 47-date summer tour across North America celebrating the band's 25th anniversary. Hard to believe that much time has passed. - Backstreet Boys are heading this way. One of the greatest memories of the '90s, the one-time chart-toppers have continued to tour throughout the 2000s although they haven't released much in the way of new music. - Indie rock legend Guided By Voices never slows down when it comes to releasing new music or hitting the touring circuit. Bob Pollard and company are returning to stages this summer for what should be fun evenings of beer drinking and rowdy singalongs. Catch them June 19 at Trees. - Toronto-based rapper Tory Lanez has announced an extensive 2018 tour across North America supporting his new album, Memories Don’t Die. The album includes collaborations with Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent and Future, among others. Tickets for the Aug. 7 show at House of Blues are on sale Friday at ticketmaster.com.
- Singer-songwriter and bluegrass legend Alison Krauss is touring this summer behind her latest album, Windy City. Although she's collaborated on tour with the likes of Willie Nelson, Robert Plant and David Gray, this outing finds her out on her own. She will play July 7 at the WinStar World Casino and Resort. - Kraus' sometime sidekick Jerry Douglas will bring The Jerry Douglas Band to the Kessler Theater for a show June 17. The dobro/lap steel maestro and bandleader has been entertaining audiences with original tunes and imaginative reinterpretations for several decades. Tickets are on sale Friday at prekindle.com.
- Americana folksinger and active humanitarian Tish Hinojosa will bring her literary storytelling and ace guitar playing June 21 to the Kessler Theater. - Longtime alternative rockers The Dandy Warhols are heading out on a brief tour in the fall. The band's last album, 2016's Distortland, was an exciting coordination of all that makes the group's sound so unique. It'll soon release a live album based off recent tours. - Stephen Marley and Matisyahu are teaming up for a joint tour titled Strength to Strength. Reggae and rap will abound and will likely be joined by many buoyant attendees eager to let loose. Tickets for the June 1 show at Deep Ellum's Canton Hall will go on sale Friday at ticketfly.com.
- Dallas native and veteran classic rock crooner Boz Scaggs makes frequent local appearances, both on his own and with contemporaries. He'll keep that streak going later this summer with a solo appearance Aug. 29 at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. Tickets are on sale Friday at axs.com.
- Joe Bonamassa brings his guitar-shredding histrionics Nov. 17 to the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. Out on the road since he was 12 years old, the guitarist has been a relentless touring musician, gracing the covers of pretty much every guitar magazine around and selling out theaters worldwide. - Lake Street Dive has a new album, Free Yourself Up, that focuses heavily on soul-drenched, radio-friendly AM gold. The band has also been busy touring over the past couple of years, moving up from smaller clubs to venues the size of The Bomb Factory, where it will play July 20. - The Granada Theater is hosting MC50 presents Kick Out The Jams — The 50th Anniversary Tour, a historic night of music, on Sept. 29. Led by original MC5 singer Brother Wayne Kramer, the night will celebrate the pioneers of punk on the 50th anniversary of their seminal album, Kick Out The Jams. Joining Kramer onstage will be Kim Thayil, Brendan Canty, Dug Pinnick and Marcus Durant. Tickets are on sale Friday at prekindle.com.
