While we await some return phone calls, this recommendation: Over the weekend I took the 7-year-old who lives in my house to the downtown Neimans so he could crawl through its so-called "Big Encounters of the Little Kind" holiday window display -- more or less a blown-out version of last year's exhibit. There's a making-of video on the other side, and the schedule's here, but it's highly recommended -- the boy went through 11 times (took about an hour) and might have made it an even dozen had he not gotten distracted by the DART cops chasing, on foot and in a screaming squad car, the knife-wielding perp who took off down S. Ervay. "Can we chase 'em?" the boy wondered. "You could blog it." There. Done.
