A couple weeks back, WFAA-Channel 8 weatherman Pete "The Big" Delkus appeared on KTCK-AM's "The Hardline"; turns out, the boys at The Ticket have a big ol' man crush on the heir to Troy Dungan's throne. And with good reason: He's as smart-ass former ball player whose career as a pitcher with the Minnesota Twins -- Delkus was named both the Twins' Minor League Player of the Year and the Rolaids Relief Man Award -- flamed out after he injured his elbow in a spring training game...against the Texas Rangers in Port Charlotte, Florida, of all teams in all places.

Uncle Barky's also got a little thing for his former Belo-mate: Every day, seems like, Ed documents the twixt-segment bantering that takes place between Delkus and Dale Hansen, who's always swinging a little too late at Delkus' high hard ones. Best part of this piece is Ed's the first guy to bring Delkus' baseball cards to show and tell; gracias to Uncle Barky for lettin' us run one of them here, because damned if we can find 'em elsewhere. And we've tried. --Robert Wilonsky
