Look, I love Lucille Hester "as my big sister", but this thing's gone too far for too long.
With new discrepancies in her story cropping up on the hour every hour, if I'm in her corner I throw in the white towel. Watching a sweet, old forgetful/manipulative lady get bludgeoned is never pretty.
The latest haymakers thrown at her knee-buckled reputation:
*In a revelation first uncovered by Sportatorium commenter "Matt", Lucille's poignant, fraudulent letter was, turns out, typed in a Calibri font not invented until 2003 and not available to the public through Microsoft until 2007. Her explanation? "I don't know who typed it, or about some font." Yep, other than the fact that the supposed 9-year-old document looks 9-days-fresh, is typed in a font that wasn't born in 1999, refers to a Roger Stauback and has a signature that looks as though Bob Hayes signed it left-handed, the letter seems absolutely, 100-percent legit.
*I told you about the Bob Hayes Foundation web site - of which Lucille W. Hester is the legal custodian - abruptly closing on Tuesday. Well, now Hayes' son, Bob Jr., is also asking questions about the site, the organization and its finances. "The Bob Hayes Foundation that she runs ... I don't know anything about it. If there is money, it was supposed to be for a foundation for a college fund for the grandkids," Hayes, Jr. says. "I have a feeling that the money goes to Lucille, to her bank, into her purse, or in a shoebox somewhere.'' That's not me accusing Hester of being a thief, that's Bob Hayes' son.
Adds Hayes, Jr., who is en route today to Hawaii for what should be an extremely tense face-to-face meeting with Lucille at this weekend's Pro Bowl, "I'm going to tell her to stop."
