9. Despite playing without Marion Barber and losing Felix Jones early in the second half, the Cowboys and Tashard Choice (82 yards) rushed for 212 yards in the 14-point win. They've now produced consecutive 200-yard-plus rushing games for the first time since 1979 when a guy named Tony Dorsett was breaking big runs.

8. By my count, Choice - who appeared on ESPN's post-game set in his pads - used the word "man" 37 times in four minutes.

7. ESPN has fantastic field microphones, allowing us to hear and feel Tony Romo's calls at the line. Is it just me, or on almost every play does he shout "One Eighty!" followed by a hurried "ReadySetHut"?

6. As impressive as Jones is - his burst is breath-taking - do you yet start worrying that he's like heir loom china? As in, too fragile for daily use? Me too.

5. Meanwhile, your Texas Rangers were officially elminated from meaningful baseball. Great season. Horrible ending. A pennant race fizzled into a footnote.

4. Though he dropped what should've been a touchdown, at least Roy Williams had four catches. First time he's done that in 13 games as a Cowboy.

3. What was more troubling, Romo's off-balance, cross-field lob pass or offensive coordinator Jason Garrett's decision to call back-to-back passes from 1? Both were a little too cute for my taste.

2. Just when you think Terence Newman needs a big play to restore his reputation, he makes one. The game was in doubt until he jumped the slant route in front of Steve Smith and took an interception to the house. Give him credit, he bottled up (four catches) one of the NFL's best receivers.

1. I know Carolina stinks and Jake Delhomme sucks, but give Wade Phillips and his 3-4 defense credit for at least one night. Three sacks. Two interceptions. One fumble. Zero second-half points.
