One more sportsy note this a.m. -- a follow to last week's item concerning the fate of the Arena Football League, in which Your Dallas Desperados play. Or played, rather, as this morning the league has announced that there will be no 2009 season, which shorts the American Airlines Center and Victory Park of eight games (at least) worth of business.

Says Dallas owner Jerry Jones in the league's official see-ya-later-maybe: "Our involvement with the Arena Football League was always geared toward promoting football on a year-round basis. Our experience with the Desperados has accomplished those goals and has been very positive. As we move forward we will explore all of the options that are available in regard to the future of the AFL and the Desperados." --Robert Wilonsky
