Richie Whitt makes brief mention of this below, but I wanted to note an important momentum swing in last night's "holy crap, not another heart attack" down-to-the-wire Mavs victory--when Tony Parker missed two key overtime free throws for the Spurs. Why'd he choke? Could've been the pressure, could've been the fatigue, but I think the big reason was Eva Longoria's huge head. During free throws, fans always wave stuff to try and distract the shooter, but this wasn't some generic sign or thunder stick: Some kid (couldn't have been older than middle school) had a gigantic cutout of Longoria's face and was waving it around as Parker took those shots. It's a move you'd expect more from a WWE fan than an NBA one, but it was such a strange, creepy sight it startled even me--Lord knows how it rattled Parker. Methinks Mr. Cuban owes you season tickets, kiddo. --Sam Machkovech
