Last night, Dallas Observer clubs editor Rich Lopez and I ventured to Reverchon Park, lured by a sign advertising $3 "haunted hay rides." It's right across from the Observer's Oak Lawn offices, conveniently located smack dab in the middle of the gayborhood. So it wasn't long before we realized that the haunted hay ride experience in Reverchon Park is not entirely unlike what happens every day in Reverchon Park. We make our case:

Hay Ride:

Full of creepy guys in the bushes Guys trying to scare our pants off Riding in the back of a truck Underage boys hustling for candy Suspecting someone scary would pop out from behind the bathroom $3 gets you a hay ride

Reverchon Park:

Full of creepy guys in the bushes Guys trying to take our pants off Getting ridden in the back of a truck Underage boys hustling Someone scary popping out from behind the bathroom $3 gets you a gay ride

Note to Oak Lawn street party organizers: Next year, we want a Haunted Gay Ride. But it still better be $3. --Andrea Grimes and Rich Lopez
