Rangers are 21 games over .500 for the first time since 1999.

Not that good great baseball is boring, but the West is all but won. Need a little drama down the stretch. Screw the Sonic Slam Inning, I'm talking major money. Like ...

We've seen the TV ad all month featuring that hot girl (Morgan) and some guy (her dad, Steve Fitzgerald, turns out) offering full flooring refunds to customers of CC Carpet in September if Josh Hamilton hits a grand slam this month.

And in last night's eight-run 4th, Yahtzee! Hamilton's slam to left gave Texas an 8-0 lead and saved customers approximately $500,000. Hamilton's blast cleared the wall and apparently crashed CC Carpet's web site.

Fans, of course, were buzzing about Fitzgerald's promotional gamble seemingly backfiring.

In the ad, Morgan says "Dad, are you crazy?!"

Yep, like a fox.

Fitzgerald is getting more than his money's worth of publicity this morning -- saw his ad on ESPN's SportsCenter a minute ago. And, yes, he did buy insurance for the promotion.
