Found this today on the Web site for Agency.com's Irving offices on N. Belt Line Road: "There’s a little saying in Texas: If you can’t think big, you’d better think of moving." It's doubtful that the employees there -- charged with handling such clients as Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services, Hilton, Nikon and 3M -- are finding much comfort in that sentiment, as global advertising and Internet marketing giant Omnicom Group is shutting down its local offices by month's end, reports AdWeek.
Says here that 10 of the locally based employees are being laid off. The remaining 13 are doing more than just thinking of moving -- they're heading to Chicago, before being spread out among the remaining agency offices in such faraway places as Amsterdam, Rome and Shanghai. Most will probably wind up in Chicago or New York, says the advertising trade magazine. --Robert Wilonsky
