The Detroit Free Press has footage of disgraced ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick boarding a LearJet Tuesday afternoon, which departed Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti for Dallas. WFAA-Channel 8 and Detroit's WXYZ-Channel 7 ("Action News!") have footage of Kilpatrick landing at Love Field last night, where he was greeted by his wife and kids. Kilpatrick -- who may be going into radio but probably won't be moving into The Potter's House -- also stopped to talk to reporters about his "incredibly purifying" experience in the joint.
What he didn't answer: How does a guy who owes Detroit a million bucks afford to live in a $3,000-a-month, half-acre Southlake rental (where his family's been since December) and spend $30,000 chartering a private plane from Michigan to Dallas (both according to WXYZ)? Says the Detroit station, how he's paying for all this "is sure to be an issue." Naw. One thing's for sure: Kwame Kilpatrick is recession-proof!
