I already hyped a show tonight at the end of this week's Is This On? column--the Cavern's 10th anniversary show, which is free, starts at 8 p.m. and includes free grub from Daddy Jack's--but I ran out of space and neglected to mention another interesting gig across town. Tonight at the Double Wide, The Happy Bullets and [DARYL] play a benefit for Michelle Metzinger, the Assassination City Roller Derby member whose controversial Deep Ellum arrest made headlines two months ago. Also playing is Rain Fur Rent, a California band whose lead singer hails from Amarillo. Hey, if Eisley can be considered "local," so can these guys, and their demos don't sound too shabby.

Meanwhile, Dentonites short on gas can stay home tonight to see the Riverboat Gamblers go apeshit at Rubber Gloves. The RGs don't come by nearly as often ever since they relocated from Denton to Austin, so skipping this concert would be quite a...wait for it...gamble. —Sam Machovech
