Man, HBO throws one swellegant party: Last night at the Angelika Film Center in Mockingbird Station, the network screened the first episode of the upcoming season of Entourage, but not before lubricating the invite-only crowd with as much Grey Goose as they--OK, we--could swallow, with only a few nibbles being passed around to soak up all the booze, of which there were three flavors. (Gotta admit: The vanilla vodka served with ginger ale is outta this world; ask the missus, who is, as she put it moments ago, "sliding fast" during her took-me-by-surprise hungover afternoon.) The whole thing had a decidedly Paper City vibe, with toned models showing off the latest in overpriced Stanley Korshak fashions for people who think Urban Outfitters is too Gap-py, phony paparazzi snapping pics of peeps strolling down the red carpet and many male guests wearing tees tighter than Aquaman's costume.
Speaking of which--and isn't that why we're here?--the third-season premiere of Entourage , which debuts June 11 at 9 p.m. C.S.T., is pretty stellar as Vinnie tries to convince his Ma to come to Hollywood for the premiere of Aquaman, Ari tries to keep his wife off his ass about bouncing checks and James Woods confronts Drama and Turtle about missing premiere tix. There was a rumor some of the cast was gonna show at last night's shindig, but no such luck; more likely some of the fellas will show in Dallas in August for the wrap-up party, of which there will only be a handful in paper cities across the country. Back now to a life less glamorous. --Robert Wilonsky
