Seriously, who are these guys decked out in red?

*The starting pitcher (Kevin Millwood) throws six shutout innings, the first Ranger to do so since Charlie Hough in 1989.

*The 20-year-old shortstop (Elvis Andrus) gets a hit in his first at-bat and ranges on the first-base side of second, turning singles into outs.

*The new starting catcher (Jarrod Saltalamacchia) drives in three runs, including a homer.

*The designated hitter who can never stay healthy (Hank Blalock) is fit long enough to break the game open with a 3-run homer in the 5th.

*The Rangers make 0 errors.

*Texas smacks '08 Cy Young winner Cliff Lee for 15 hits, matching a Opening Day franchise-record set in 1982.

*Bullpen arms (C.J. Wilson and Frankie Francisco) combined to throw two shutout innings.

We're accustomed to the Rangers winning 9-8, but 9-1?

Chris Davis didn't get a hit. The wind continually whipped hot dog wrappers all over the field. And the B-1 bombers' flyover occurred during the National Anthem, not after it.

But all things considered: A perfect day.
