Couple of months back we noticed that the Museum of the American Railroad hadn't pulled out of Fair Park as planned -- or as stipulated by its agreement with the city of Dallas following the resolution of the lawsuit brought by the city in January 2010. Still not sure when the trains roll out -- calls are out -- but Justin was in Fair Park doing another shoot when he espied workers dismantling and loading up ol' Tower 19 -- a circa-1903 Santa Fe structure -- which, per the museum's website, has been taking place for the last couple of days. Says the museum:
The top floor will be lowered to the ground and placed on bogies (wheels). Weighing nearly 47,000 lbs., it contains the 105-lever "pistol grip" interlocking machine manufactured by General Railway Signal Company in 1952. The two floors are expected to begin the trip to Frisco Thursday evening (February 23).Note to self: Call Justin back.
