Every year or so we get word of yet another crime map out there. Here's the latest: Trulia's Beta-testing, color-coded "heat" map, which, says the Chicago Sun-Times, is a collaboration between EveryBlock.com, CrimeReports.com and SpotCrime.com intended to allow "home buyers, sellers and renters to look at citywide crime trends in 50 metropolitan areas," among them, of course, Dallas.

Good timing too: The council's Public Safety Committee meets this afternoon to review the latest crime stats, where, you'll see, murder's on the rise -- and that chart doesn't include the three homicides Dallas Police reported yesterday.
