Whether you're at the end of your rope or merely the end of your week, welcome to Whitt's End:

*It hit me this week: More than the Mavs being psychologically gutted from playoff failure or inherently soft or whatever, the thing that has stunted their growth is the regression of Josh Howard. He was once an All-Star. A Scottie Pippen to Dirk's Jordan. A player who's length and versatility and agility were unique and, at times, unstoppable. Now? Just an average player with lotsa baggage who can't stay healthy.

*As you may remember, I voted for Obama. But there's no excuse for him going on the shitty Jay Leno show. Even worse, there's no excuse for going on the shitty Jay Leno show and referring to his shitty bowling as "Special Olympics." After what I experienced a couple weeks ago, them's fightin' words.

*Have you checked out Bobby Knight on ESPN's March Madness coverage? Either my TV's tint is skewing radical red or he's deteriorated into Rudolph's sunburned twin. What the hell?

*If the Donte Stallworth tragedy sounds familiar, congrats, you've been paying attention.

*Texas Stadium is officially a junk yard. Wokers moved Tom Landry's 9-foot bronze statue today and will store it peacefully until he finds his new home at Jonestown Coliseum.

*Speaking of the new joint in Arlington, you can get a suite sneak preview here.

*Hot.

*Not.

*FC Dallas starts another season Saturday at Pizza Hut Park. Anyone give a damn?

*America's current clusterfuck in a nutshell: Amdist this economic Apocalypse, there are some morons actually outraged that Michelle Obama "shows too much arm." Seriously, if there is an invisible skyman overseeing our planet, I hope he/she/it is has bigger fish to fry than fretting over a supposedly deteriorating morality via a twisted arms race. This country sold 17 million cars in '07 and only 9 million in '08. Companies are being awarded billions of dollars for sucking. Our 401ks are now 104ks. You can buy Citibank shares at the Dollar Store. Arms schmarms, I say. Arms schmarms.

*If SMU wasn't on your March Madness bracket, here's why.

*If you want to hear me - or even see me - on 105.3 The Fan this Saturday I'll be broadcasting live from the Harley-Davidson store in Carrollton at I-35 and Whitlock from 1-3 p.m. I'll be on Sunday 8-Noon from the studio. As always, even if you don't care I'll be on anyway.
