Restaurant Y Taquería Cristina tacos may be greasy as hell, but it's hard to argue against some of their fillings. Lengua and carnitas are woefully bland, but pastor is full of flavor. The barbacoa, however, is outstanding, at once beefy, bright and juicy enough that you have to eat them directly over your plate.
In case you didn't know, the menu spells it out for you. This cheek meat taco is good, but it's a superstar with just a touch of one of Cristina's three salsas. The red version in one squeeze bottle is spicy and smoky, the green version in another is more acidic and a little less hot. A small dish of salsa brought out with chips and a runny bean dip, is somewhere in-between.
