No. 71: Shaved Ice at May's Ice Cream

As another punishing Texas summer brings us daily multiple showers and seared body parts on car seats, excuse us while we enjoy our heat-induced hallucinations of meat-locker air conditioning systems and giant troughs of margaritas.

The more viable, eco-friendly and liver-sympathetic solution to combating God's beat down, however, comes in the form of a bowl of shaved ice from the beloved Richardson Chinatown eatery, May's Ice Cream. Giant bowls of shaved ice are topped with sweet ingredients of your choosing. The selection is endless and can range from jellies, to sweet beans to boba pearls. Capped off with even more shaved ice and generous pours of condensed milk and dark amber syrup, it's enough to make someone ignore utensils entirely in favor of dunking one's head in the bowl of frozen goodness.
