It is in no way clever, but the headline was effective: SAUSAGEFEST CELEBRATES MANLY MEATS. They even put it in all caps. The FAN is having a phallus-themed meat party, and I'm taking the bait. I'll leave the jokes to you guys in the comments, but here are the details if you want to bro down with The FAN in Main Street Garden later this summer.

They'll have pork sausage, beef sausage, smoked sausage, boiled sausage, spicy sausage, sausage on a stick, sausage on a bun and much more. SausageFest will celebrate all things sausage, from andouille to wurst.

And of course they're not stopping at tube steaks. The event will include the Miss SausageFest pageant, a wiener dog costume contest and games such as toss the sausage and ... wait for it ..."sausage bobbing".

I'm going to let you guys be alone with the image of manly men bobbing for sausages in a giant vat of God-knows-what. If things like this appeal to you, admission is $12 in advance and $20 at the door, with tickets on sale now at sausagefestdfw.com.

Beverages, a plethora of sausage offerings and other food options will be available for an additional charge. The event will be held Saturday, August 10, with doors opening at 4 p.m. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.
